DIY Copper Pumpkins
I absolutely love the way these copper pumpkins turned out! As soon as September 1st came around, I was ready for Halloween home décor. I had purchased these pumpkins last year from Amazon but was never a huge fan of them. So this year, I wanted to give them a fresh look!

I went to Walmart to shop for paint for another project and came across this Aged Copper spray paint. Copper is a perfect autumn color and a copper pumpkin is the perfect pumpkin décor!
Step 1: Clean the Pumpkins
To prep the pumpkins for spray paint, I cleaned them using Denatured Alcohol. I wiped the entire pumpkins down, making sure to remove any dust / dirt.

Step 2: Spray the Pumpkins (and leaves)
With my pumpkins cleaned they were ready for spray paint! I had compared a few different options in the store but ultimately settled on Rust-oleum’s Aged Copper. I had considered Rust-oleum’s Rose Gold but when I tested it, it did not seem to cover well at all.

Starting with the bottom, I lightly sprayed my pumpkins with the copper spray paint. I went back and forth until all visible areas were covered. It’s important not to overspray or you will end up with drips! Spraying your pumpkins shouldn’t take more than a few minutes!
After allowing the bottoms to dry for 1 hour, I flipped the pumpkins over and sprayed the tops.

I decided to add artificial leaves to the tops of my pumpkins! For my fake leaves, I just plucked a few leaves off of an old wreath I had laying around, so really anything will do! I sprayed the leaves and allowed to dry for 1 hour.

Step 3: Glue on Leaves
Using my hot glue gun, I applied a small amount of glue and glued the leaved onto my pumpkins.
