Easy DIY Hanging Ghost

I just love the joy holiday decorations bring to my kids!

These light up DIY hang ghost were so fun to make and my kids just jumped for joy seeing them done and lit up in the dark! This is a super simple DIY as long as you have Amazon and a pair of scissors you can knock several of these ghost out quickly!

Materials:

Paper Lanters
84 inch Round Plastic Tablecloths
Waterproof Mini LED Lights
Fishing Line (or other clear twine)
Packing Tape
Black paper (or vinyl)

Tools:

Scissors
Cricut (optional)

Step One: Set Up Paper Lantern

Push the metal brace into the middle of the paper lantern. Be careful to align the brace based on the instructions provided with your lanterns so that you don’t tear the paper.

Step Two: Cut Tablecloth

First unfold and find the center of your tablecloth. Then stick a small piece of packing table over the center mark.

With the tablecloth folded at the center, cut a small hole.

Tip: The packing tape will make for a stronger hold with the fishing line run through the hole and will limit any tearing or pulling on the plastic itself.

Step Three: Tie Light inside the Lantern

To tie the light in the lantern, first wrap the fishing line around the light and then tie it tight.

Then tie the fishing line around the center brace of the paper lantern. Make sure you leave the fishing line long so that you can adjust the hanging length.

Step Four: Pull Plastic Tablecloth over the Lantern

Next, run the fishing line through the center hole that you cut in the tablecloth. Then fluff up the tablecloth so that it falls evenly around the paper lantern.

Step Five: Add Ghost Face

To create the ghosts face I used a circut to cut out the shapes on sticky vinyl; however, if you do not have a circut you can easily trace a face onto black paper, cut it out, and glue it on with a glue stick.
